Return to Work (RTW) Coordinator Training

Under worker’s compensation legislation, Category 1 employers (defined as employers whose basic tariff premium exceeds $50,000), self insurers, and employers who are insured by a specialized insurer and who employ more than 20 workers, must have a qualified Return to Work Coordinator.

Introduction to RTW Coordinator Training:

This is a two day WorkCover NSW accredited course.  The course content includes:

  • Overview of the workplace injury management and worker’s compensation system
  • Components of an Employer’s RTW Programme
  • Role of the RTW Coordinator
  • Working with key players
  • Working with the Nominated Treating Doctor (NTD)
  • Putting theory into practice
  • The role of the insurer
  • Benefits for injured workers
  • Developing a RTW Plan
  • Dispute prevention and resolution

Advanced RTW Coordinator Training:

For people with experience as a qualified RTW Coordinator, this is the WorkCover NSW one day accredited course (workshop style) which aims to further develop your skills.  The course content includes:

  • Managing complex claims – issues affecting suitable duties
  • Strategic case management
  • Managing complex claims – disputed claims
  • Managing complex claims – mapping
  • Options for permanently partially incapacitated workers
