As a WorkCover (NSW & ACT) and Comcare accredited Occupational Rehabilitation Provider, Re-Start Consulting provides occupational rehabilitation services to compensable claimants under WorkCover, ComCare, Compulsory Third Party, Income Protection and company personal illness programmes in New South Wales and the ACT.

Re-Start Consulting offers case management as well as one off assessments.

The Occupational Rehabilitation services offered by Re-Start Consulting are provided by the Injury Management and Employment Services Teams. The services offered by each of these teams are outlined below.

The Injury Management team focuses on claimants with physical injuries. The consultants in this team hold qualifications in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Nursing. The team includes staff with strong insurance and clinical backgrounds.

  • Case Management of physical injuries

  • Development of Return to Work Plans
  • Functional Assessments (Valpar and WorkHab)

employment services

The Employment Services team focuses on two groups of claimants – those with psychological injuries (i.e. anxiety, depression, acute stress reaction or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and those who can no longer return to their previous employment and require assistance in locating new employment.

Our Employment Services team consists of Rehabilitation Counsellors, Social Workers and Psychologists.

This unique group supported program aims to assist workers who have basic job seeking skills but are having difficulty securing new employment. Re-Start Consulting acknowledges and addresses issues such as lack of confidence, lack of motivation, isolation and lack of consistency in effort towards job seeking.

To counteract these issues, Re-Start Consulting engages such clients in its Excel-erate program. Here they are provided with resources, coaching and supervision while they go about their job seeking activities. Working alongside other similarly positioned clients, the client is provided with motivation, coaching and direction as they work steadily towards the achievement of new employment. The program is facilitated by a qualified and experienced consultant.

The Excel-erate program is run on Monday and Wednesday mornings and is a continuous programme. Therefore there is no waiting period before a new client can join the program. All clients will need to have an established vocational goal prior to entering the program.
